We are excited to be able to present you with this update on the New England IMPACT NPL season. In a very short period of time, we have been able to develop and launch a new and innovative girls soccer league experience.
Spirit of Liverpool are one of six founding member clubs that will be a part of the inaugural spring season. Looking ahead and as you will read below, Spirit of Liverpool will be adding teams to complete each age group and the league will be joined by additional clubs in the fall of 2021 as part of a strategic expansion program.
WHY IMPACT NOW: The transition into the IMPACT NPL League is an important step for our club in terms of being a part of a “US Club Soccer” sanctioned soccer league where we have a direct say in how the league is managed and how programs are developed. The common thread among the six founding member clubs is the belief that player development and a positive and productive college pathway should be the top priority. The league has been fully sanctioned by US Club Soccer as part of its NPL National platform.
Unlike many other leagues, the IMPACT NPL league is directly managed by like-minded clubs, and they have been working extremely hard to prepare for a full season of league play. The IMPACT NPL league philosophy is that a league must be more than just a series of weekly games in the spring and fall.
As we return to training, our children are going to be training at a higher intensity than the summer. We have linked articles that could help your soccer players with their preparation for training and games. The second link is an informative guide to recovering from training and games. Both articles give reasoning and rationale of what you eat and how it can help or hinder your performance.
CELTIC Soccer Academy continues to strengthen their Club Partnership Programme in North America with the addition of our first club partner in New England, Spirit of Liverpool.
We are delighted to welcome Spirit of Liverpool into our programme, which will see the club access player and coach development opportunities such as our online coaching curriculum, monthly coach education WebEx’s and the Elite Player Programme, which will be held in New England early next year.
Bernie Grimes, president and Director of Coaching for Spirit of Liverpool, said: “We look forward to what this international partnership with Celtic FC has to offer as we strive to be the best we can be, on the field as well as off the field. Our coaching staff and our players are all excited and ready to learn the Celtic way.”
Alex Macpherson, Celtic FC Partnership Executive, added: "Spirit of Liverpool are a fantastic addition to our programme as they have a very similar ethos to Celtic FC in terms of player development and the work they do in their local community. They will be a fantastic partner for the Celtic Soccer Academy and we are looking forward to a long future with them."
